PWV3 Traffic Study
Client: SANRAL/ROMH.
Project Description: Feasibility study for the development of the PWV3 from the K44 intersection to the R512 intersection (approximately 7.7 km).
Scope of Work: Merchelles was initially appointed by ROHM to undertake an independent traffic study assessing the impact on the R512 of constructing the PWV3 Highway. The study indicated that approximately 78% of traffic could be diverted to the PWV3.
Subsequent to this, Merchelles was appointed to undertake a feasibility assessment for the development of the PWV3 from the K44 intersection to the R512 intersection. The scope of work on the PWV3 study included running a SATRUN Traffic Model of the Hartbeespoort area and conducting land use development, social, economic and environmental assessments to determine the viability of the project.
